The development team of Kessinger/Hunter and International Risk Group, LLC, is selected by Johnson County Commissioners for the redevelopment of the Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant, DeSoto, Kansas

Littleton, CO - January 16, 2004 -The development team of Kessinger/Hunter and International Risk Group, LLC, is selected by Johnson County Commissioners for the redevelopment of the Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant, DeSoto, Kansas. The action taken by the Johnson County Commissioners marks a milestone in the process to remediate the Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant and develop the property for its highest and best uses. This endeavor will return the property to the tax rolls and provide housing and employment opportunities, as well as additional parklands, for the residents of Johnson County now and for generations to come. While this is a big step, there remains a great deal of hard work, planning, coordination, and execution of a plan and vision in accordance with the County's master plan. In conjunction with federal, state and local government officials, the development team will now move forward with fine-tuning the details of the plan for the transfer of the property, including the remediation integral to fulfillment of that process.

The development team of Kessinger/Hunter and International Risk Group, LLC, is committed to listen and seek counsel from all of those who participated in the process. We truly believe that the interests and goals of the developers and those of the County and State are parallel and we will proceed recognizing that reality. We look forward to the time when residences, schools, research and development facilities, and recreational amenities enhance the landscape.
